Flag Day

If you follow my instagram feed you may have read that I had lost a cf card.  Yes it's still missing - even after going through the field on my hands and knees, recruiting any help I could, using a metal detector - it's still out there somewhere.  I have finally come to terms with not finding it.  I had a few sleepless nights over it but thanks to the graciousness of my clients all is well.

Last night we were able to redo the lost images and because we had a little extra time we played in the field with this streamer flag Janelle and I fashioned out of drift wood and streamers.  It was so much fun I'm pretty sure I'll do it again!

A Love Letter To My Country

Happy Canada Day!  We don't get crazy at my house for Canada Day - usually it's just another day in the summer not unlike any other summer day.

But this year I've been thinking a lot about how incredibly lucky and privileged I am - to have been born in this beautiful place.  A place where I can be anyone I choose.  That's huge.  I take for granted that I'm free to practice any religion or none at all.  I can wear what I want, love and marry whom ever I  choose, voice my displeasure with with government without fear of retaliation.  Really - that's a big deal.  I really have no concept of war.  I can imagine what it might be like but I've no experience.  In a world filled with terrorists and unrest I wake up every morning to 82 acres of untouched beauty.  I am so privileged.  Thank you Canada.  Thank you to our politicians who work tirelessly to protect our interests.  Thank you to the men and women who protect our country now as well as in the past.  Thank you to the people who maintain our roads, forests, and parks.  Happy Canada Day!

I spent last evening up at the National Park making some Canadian images and getting eaten by mosquitos with these two love birds.  So many images I love - I'll share in two posts.  Stay tuned for more!

Oh Elise - You have the most wonderful smile!  I can't help but smile when you smile

Beth :: Onward and Upward

I say it every year - but oh how I would love to relive my late teens again with all the wisdom and maturity of my 30 something years.  It's such an exciting time - going out on your own, discovering (and rediscovering) who you will be as an adult.

I wish for Beth and all this years graduates that they recognize how big a deal this is and that they pursue things that both excite and scare them.
