This session took place on the very last day before the snow flew and stuck around this past fall. I love the earthy warmth of the forest near my home.

"You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming.” ~ Pablo Neruda
Jose Villa has asked (via instagram) what inspires and speaks to me of beauty. It's a question that should be asked of ourselves often.
It's so cliche but becoming a photographer has re-opened my eyes to the beauty in the most mundane things. The sparkle of a Christmas decoration that still sits out in March. The silhouette of horses against the sunset on my evening drive home. The curvy blue and pink shadows on whats left of the snow in our front field. Light, texture, colour, sound, connection, all of these catch me now in way they hadn't since I was a small child. It has become second nature to read, see and capture these things. Seeing the world like this is a skill that when practiced daily is incredibly enriching, rewarding and inspiring.
